Flooring Advice, Measuring and Fitting
Choosing a new floor should be something to look forward to. We’re here to help you explore the options, understand the costs and plan the next steps—from comparing your first samples to preparing for fitting day.
Advice that starts with you
Tell us about your home, how you use the room and what you would like to spend. We’ll help you compare materials, colours and textures, explaining where it makes sense to invest a little more and where you can make a sensible saving.
Bring along paint colours, fabrics or photographs. Take your time, ask questions and find a floor you’ll enjoy living with.
Free measuring and samples at home
Our free, no-obligation home consultation lets you see samples alongside your furniture and in your own light.
We’ll measure your rooms and discuss the details that affect the finished job, including underlay, floor preparation, doorways and transitions between rooms.
A clear written estimate
Before you order, we’ll provide a written estimate showing your chosen flooring, accessories and any preparation or additional services discussed.
Fitting costs will be identified separately, with a clear explanation of who will provide the installation and who you will pay.
If you need help moving furniture or removing and disposing of old flooring, please mention this when we measure. We’ll confirm what can be arranged and set out the associated charges.
Experienced people to fit your flooring
We work with a combination of our own employed fitting team and vetted, recommended independent fitters. Before you proceed, we’ll explain which arrangement applies to your job.
Fitting supplied by us
Where we provide the fitting service, your installation agreement is with us and we take responsibility for the work. This includes installations carried out by our employed team or a fitter engaged by us to work on our behalf. The fitting charges are payable to us.
An introduction to an independent fitter
Where we introduce you to an independent fitter, your fitting agreement is directly with them, separate from your flooring purchase. They are responsible for their installation work, and the agreed fitting charges are payable directly to them.
We can provide an estimate to help you plan your budget and help coordinate an appointment. The fitting work and charges are subject to agreement between you and the independent fitter. You are also welcome to arrange your own fitter.
Getting ready for fitting day
We’ll help clarify the arrangements for access, furniture and removal of existing flooring before the appointment. Please clear smaller belongings and valuables from the working area.
New flooring can affect door clearance. Trimming or easing doors is additional work unless specifically included in your estimate, so please discuss this beforehand.
Sometimes, lifting old flooring reveals a need for preparation that could not be seen during measuring. Whoever is providing your installation will explain any additional work and agree the charges with you before proceeding.
Caring for your new flooring
We’ll advise you on the care and maintenance of your new flooring, including everyday cleaning, suitable products and the manufacturer’s recommendations, to help keep it looking its best.
For questions about your flooring, contact the showroom. If we supplied the fitting, we’ll also handle any installation concerns.
We’re grateful to everyone who chooses or recommends our family business, and we work hard to earn that trust.
